The advent of liberalization in Indian has brought in sea-change in the Indian Business Scenario. Global competition has brought in not various products with added features but has also shifted the focus towards improved quality, faster delivery, purchasing flexibility, shorter product life cycle and reduced cost. Indian industries have now started focusing on supply chain management towards enhancing growth and profitability. Many industries are looking towards clearer understanding of the integrated Supply Chain performance measures.

With a view to help the Indian industries, IIMM Chennai Branch, on behalf of its National Headquarters, carried out a Pilot Project Survey across various industries in India on Benchmarking Best Supply Chain Practices. An exhaustive report covering the findings of the survey has been brought out. The study covers various performance metrics related to cycle time, cost metrics, quality metrics and asset metrics. It presents the Best in class Vs Industry average on each of the performance metrics.

As the findings of the report will be a useful reference document for the industries, the report is now made in CD form and is available for sale. The cost of CD is Rs.200/- plus Rs.50/-towards courier charges. CDs can be obtained either from IIMM National Headquarters at Mumbai or from IIMM, Chennai Branch, at the addresses given below, by sending a DD for Rs.250/- in favor of “Indian Institute of Materials Management”, payable either at Mumbai or at Chennai as the case may be.
